About Us

The Friends of Cape Florida State Park, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) corporation and was established in 2000.

We work closely with Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park to unlock the full promise of the treasured “Park in Our Backyard”. Our mission is to protect and enhance the park’s natural resources and its cultural heritage, including the iconic Cape Florida Lighthouse while creating meaningful opportunities for learning, recreation, and connection.

By championing the stewardship of its 506 acres and its namesake William Calhoun Baggs, we aim to deepen our community’s appreciation of the park and highlight the many ways it enriches Key Biscayne, Miami-Dade County, and all who visit.
